Anxiety Therapy in Seattle

Your stomach is tied up in knots most of the day.  It’s difficult to concentrate at work, and you are fearful that you might get fired, which causes more anxiety.  You spend a lot of time worrying about the future, paralyzing you in the present.  Sometimes, it’s hard to breathe, and you’re afraid of having another panic attack.

Small things feel like big things, and getting perspective on anything is hard.  You are avoiding important areas in your life, such as dating, looking for a new job, or joining a community. You feel like life is passing you by and can’t imagine another year of living like this.

You feel lonely but don’t want to go out with your friends.  If you go out with them, you are self-conscious and think you said stupid things; you are sure you’ve offended someone.  “I don’t know how to act around others,” you tell yourself.  If they knew the real me, they would probably run.

You think you are not doing a good job at work but are getting good reviews, and your co-workers like you.  You think to yourself, “If I’m such a loser, how did I get this job?”  The voices in your head tell you all the ways you are falling short, but the evidence of your life looks different.  Which should you believe?

Friends and family are getting worried about you.  You feel like you are in a dark hole and don’t know how to get out of it on your own.

You are ready to reach out (again or for the first time) and find a good therapist who can make a difference in your life.  Good for you!

About Anxiety Therapy In Seattle

Therapy is an effective way to not only better understand your anxiety but, more importantly, to learn how to calm anxious feelings in the moment, tame run-away thinking, and develop practical skills to cope with stress.

We meet once a week either in my office or by Telehealth.   During the initial session, I get to know you: your history, especially about your anxiety, what your life is like now, and how anxiety is preventing you from reaching your goals. Then we get to work!

I don’t believe you need to be in therapy forever.

In our time together you will find me direct and supportive in my observations, skilled at getting to the heart of the matter, and effective in helping you to make the changes you need.
